We want to evolve and develop the fisheries industry with new technologies and ideas!

Nitto Seimo celebrates 113 years in business this year. In this program, we would like to challenge the creation of new businesses for the next 100 years by combining the ideas and technologies of startups with our company's resources.

Issues

  • 01

    Development of new services

We will take on the challenge of developing new services by combining the knowledge and technology we have cultivated to date with the excellent ideas and technology possessed by startups. Examples:

    • Development of a new service to provide information on weather, sea conditions, and landings mainly for coastal fishermen.

    • Development of technologies that contribute to "smarter fishing" using cameras, sensors, etc.

    • Development of survey and fishing gear installation technology using AI and drones

  • 02

Development of SDGs and environmentally friendly services

In recent years, the deterioration of the marine environment due to microplastics and other substances has become an issue, and one of the goals of the SDGs is to "protect the richness of the oceans" along with the sustainable use of marine resources. We are promoting initiatives that contribute to the preservation of the marine environment, such as product recycling, and aim to develop new services to help solve social issues.

  • 03

    Optimize management methods

By introducing new technologies, such as traceability of products after shipment, we aim to innovate and optimize conventional management mechanisms. Example: Proposals for DXing of net management (e.g., traceability of nets after shipment using RFID)

Resources

  • 01
    01

Extensive sales network and customer base in Japan and overseas

We have a sales system that covers all of Japan, and we also have several sales bases and distributors overseas. The products sold by each of our sales offices cover a variety of fishing methods, including set nets, aquaculture nets, purse seines, trawl nets, and seaweed nets, and each maintains a high share of the Japanese domestic market. We also sell nets specialized for land-based applications.

    02

Technology and expertise in surveys, design and installation, simulation, etc.

We offer the best solutions for issues related to "nets". In addition, we not only produce nets, but also possess a series of technologies and know-how for using them as fishing gears. For example, we provide comprehensive support to our customers by surveying fishing grounds, designing fishing gears, methods to install them in appropriate sea areas, and analyzing technology through simulations. We also actively conduct joint research and development with universities and other research institutions and companies in different fields.

Message from Team

In this program, we would like to create "new value" to solve social issues together by combining the resources we have cultivated so far, such as our various products including "knotless net" and our customer base mainly in the domestic and international fishery industry, with the excellent ideas and technologies of the startups. We believe that by leveraging the strengths of both companies, we will be able to create a major synergy. We look forward to a wonderful encounter that will bring about great synergy by leveraging the strengths of both companies.
